About Us

Our mission:
Transforming lives into the image of God with verse-by-verse teaching through God's Word, passionate worship, and encouraging fellowship. This is the heart of our reason for being. And if you would like to learn, grow, heal, and be effective in your life, then this might just be the place to do it. Our fellowship began as a home Bible study in January 2000. You can be assured of Biblically-based teaching that is both sound theologically but also practically applied to everyday life. Worship times are casual, yet filled with a passion for God. Fellowship is also very important - so we provide opportunities for the family to get to know each other, and support each other as we walk with the Lord each day.

For our studies, we try to keep the atmosphere casual and intimate. That means you can feel comfortable - no one will embarrass you, and nothing weird or strange will happen around you.

We begin with a review of upcoming goings-on at Crossroads, then take a look at world events as they might affect the Body of Christ, and then a time of worship in song.   We consider the worship of our Lord in song as an integral part of our overall study of the Word of God.  Worship time is a time to prepare our hearts to be taught by the Holy Spirit, and to hear from the Lord.   After worship we get into the Word for studies that last between 45-60 minutes. We study through a book at a time so we get the entire context of what the Holy Spirit is saying. Afterwards we share coffee and treats in a time of fellowship - connecting with other believers.

We celebrate the Lord's Supper in the taking of Communion on the first Sunday and the third Thursday of each month.

Pastor Howard Fleury  -  A Testimony

I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church.  At about the age of 19, I realized that there were serious contradictions between what was being taught and practiced by the Roman Catholic Church and the "things of God".

I could not reconcile these things that I was encountering in the church, and by its members.  I thought "If the Roman Catholic Church is the representative of God here on earth, and they preach and pracitce some of the things which I was seeing and encountering, then there must not be a God".

At that point, I left the Roman Catholic Church, and walked away from God altogether.  I was basically what would be labeld an Atheist  for quite a number of years.

I joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968.  During my term of service, I was assigned as a computer operator / radio operator, and served for the majority of my time as a Communications Center Chief at the Marine Corps Base at Twenty-Nine Palms, California.  I was discharged from the Marine Corps in 1971 with the rank of Seargent (E-5).

Shortly after, in 1974, I moved to Alaska, and lived in Anchorage for 14 years, until moving back to California in 1988.

After my discharge from the Marine Corps, I began to become wrapped up in materialism, always wanting to "keep up with the Joneses".  Whatever I wanted, I found a way to buy.  During this time, I was also heavily into drinking alcohol, and, by all accounts, an alcoholic.....although a somewhat successful businessman all the while.

During 1993, while working at a construction project / business venture in California, I had the good fortune fo hire a man named Keith.  I praise the Lord now that Keith was a faithful witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Keith spent a lot of time sharing the Lord with me, even while I stood "toe-to-toe" with him and argued that there was no God.

I also praise  the Lord that, in 1995,  the Holy Spirit revealed the true Lord and God of the universe to me, and I was regenerated....born again....was sanctified, and am being sanctified - by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.

Immediately, the Lord took from me any desire to drink alcohol.  He also removed from me any materialistim attitudes.  He cleaned me then, and continues to do so as He sees fit.  In an instant, I was truly a new creature in Christ.

Also, almost immediately after my "new brith", the Lord revealed to me that I was called to preach and teach His Word, and to pastor.

My wife, Caroline, and I have been married since December, 1995.  We have one adopted son, Nathanael, whom we adopted at birth in 1997, and he is now 14 years old.

We moved to Moorhead, Minnesota from Diamond Bar, California in June, 1999 and began a Bible study from our home in January, 2000.  I have been teaching God's Word since.

We have been foster parents in Clay County, Minnesota since January, 2003.  Our first foster child, Ashton, came into our home in April, 2003 when he was 2 days old.  Although he now lives with his Aunt here in Moorhead, we consider him our son also, and he gets to spend considerable time with us.

During the years that we have been foster parents, we have had well over 60 children in our care.  We enjoy the opportunity that the Lord gives us to share Jesus with these children as we can.  We know that God's Word will not return void.
